Adaptive Skills Training (ages 13 +)

Adaptive skills programming is designed to actively support individuals to become more
independent and effective in their daily living activities. Goals include:

  • increased confidence in navigating a variety of social situations
  • decreased social anxiety
  • increased ability to identify independent skills associated with daily living

Adaptive Skills covers the following domains:

  • Conceptual: Communication, functional academics, self direction
  • Social: Leisure, social
  • Practical: Community Use, School Living, Health and Safety, Self Care,
    Independent Living

Client Sessions are provided by trained adaptive skills specialists. Sessions are weekly and
frequency is determined based upon client needs:

o 1:1 intensive programming, $120 per hour
o 1:2 moderate support programming, $60.00 per hour
o 1:3 group support programming, $45.00 per hour

Family Sessions provided by Program Director: 1 time per month. $60.00 per hour
Assessments: Conducted by clinical director and specialist, $30.00 per hour (approximately 3
hours per assessment)

Where: The main location will be the La Crescenta site location with in home or off site
activities as determined by the treatment plan.
When: Year-round with holiday closures. Schedules are based upon facilitator and participant
availability.
Enrollment: Enrollment begins with a family meeting plus the completion of the ABAS-III
which will then be scored and interpreted by the Clinical Director (a licensed psychologist). This
feedback will be shared with the family and a treatment plan development to target the desired
skill areas.
